one of the important things to understand in building trust and connection, is that there is a very real cadence to peace. there is a rhythm to the way people speak, how we listen, whether it’s the drawn silence or the almost slow-motion absence of expectation. the practice of peace isn’t some airy-fairy hope or ungrounded ethereal hogwash. it’s tangible. it has quantifiable processes. and you can actually feel the flow of it when you’re doing it.

in my experiences in participating in cultures of peace i can say that i have seen these resonances firsthand. there is a palpable shift in the room. there is sacredness to the exchange as it murmurs throughout the space. and a soft whisper begins to be mirrored by those present. again, the key here is to learn how to nurture this process.
